Matthew is really blossoming, he is starting to feel more comfortable to talk a little bit in front of us. Starting to jabber a bit in mandarin. We can understand him saying baba, mama and door, but he usually talks very softly. He still has quite an appetite, but he will play with food and even waste it now. He also doesn't feel the need to down his bottle quickly and he can even leave it unfinished. We think he was called Hui Hui (sounding like hway hway), but he doesn't seem to answer to it regularly. Matthew enjoys playing with the items in the room more than toys still. He his going to be disappointed at home that there isn't a new supply of toothbrushes, combs and shower caps everyday. He has also taken a liking to stickers :)
He was pretty upset yesterday when we started to pack our suitcases and later we walked into the new hotel room. The delayed flight was pretty exciting too. We begun to explore 50 ways to entertain a toddler on a airplane - drinking water from a spoon, eating suckers, finding suckers on the floor, throwing spoons, sticking suckers to baba's arm hair, filling and emptying the barf bag with wrappers, eating more snacks, writing all over the airplane magazines, tearing a sweet bun into 200 pieces, and kicking the seat of the man who decided to recline his seat in front of us. It was one of those moments where you just laugh and cry at the same time. We were the naughty American parents and exposed Matthews bare arms on the 85 degree plane. One of the other adoptive moms got chastised for taking off her daughters boots on the plane. The woman informed her that her baby was cold and that's why she was crying...
